Russia’s Foreign Minister said that Russia would intensify its methods to destroy everything that fuels Kyiv’s war machine from the West. He also acknowledged that people in Russia are suffering and dying because of the war.

Russia will act more harshly to “destroy” everything through which the West strengthens Ukraine’s military potential, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said. This was reported by The Moscow Times, writes UNN.

“We will make our own methods much harsher to destroy everything that fuels Kyiv’s military machine from the West. And we are already doing this. They are already beginning to groan,” Lavrov said.

According to him, this is precisely why voices are increasingly being heard “from various points across our common space” calling for an end to the war in Ukraine. At the same time, Lavrov stressed that this would not happen in the near future.

“If we suddenly stopped now along the line of contact, we would, in essence, allow the feat of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers, who defeated Nazism, to be crossed out. This cannot be considered. It concerns our responsibility for the thousand-year history of the Russian state,” the foreign minister said.

At the same time, Lavrov acknowledged that because of the war, which has been ongoing for a fifth year, people in Russia are suffering and dying. However, according to him, hostilities should be ended only when “there is a long-term, reliable, sustainable settlement.”
