At 1:41 a.m., the National Armed Forces reported a possible aerial threat in Latvian airspace in the Rēzekne and Ludza districts.

At 2:00 a.m., the armed forces reported the activation of an air mission to patrol the airspace.
An hour later, the National Armed Forces announced that the possible threat in Latvian airspace had ceased.

On May 7, drones flew from the territory of the Russian Federation into Latvia, two of which crashed. One drone hit an empty storage tank at an oil depot in the city of Rēzekne.
