A large-scale forest fire in the border area of the Chernihiv region, which broke out as a result of massive shelling by the Russian Federation, has turned back toward Russia, the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" reported on Friday, UNN writes.

"The fire broke out as a result of massive shelling by the Russian Federation. Extinguishing it is almost impossible — equipment is being destroyed by drones that hunt everything that moves," the report states.
However, the forest guard of the SE "Forests of Ukraine," as noted, "is preventing the fire from spreading to forest tracts deep within Ukrainian territory."
"Our equipment is working day and night. Additional mineralized strips are being established. We are treating areas between forest crops, along roads, and near settlements with disc harrows and plows, creating barriers for the fire," the report says.
"Fortunately, the fire front turned north and began moving toward the Russian Federation. The Rashists themselves fell into the fire trap they prepared for the Ukrainian forest," the SE "Forests of Ukraine" pointed out.
