Law enforcement officers have served a notice of suspicion to a man who opened fire in a high-rise building in the capital's Desnianskyi district. This was reported by the Kyiv police, according to UNN.

It has been established that the perpetrator is a 39-year-old serviceman who went AWOL (absent without leave) from his military unit in 2025. Military Law Enforcement Service personnel arrived to see the man, and subsequently, during the conversation, the suspect fired two shots from a revolver in their direction. No one was injured as a result of the incident. The suspect was detained by KORD special forces during a special operation. Notably, during a search of his apartment, suspected drugs were discovered.

On May 18, in the capital, a man fired two shots during an argument and barricaded himself in his own home. Police conducted negotiations with the shooter; there were no casualties.
The man was later detained, and law enforcement officers opened a case on the grounds of hooliganism.
