Ukraine has suspended consular services for men abroad, calling it fair because, according to Foreign Minister Kuleba, "the guys in the trenches are very tired" and some are "sitting in restaurants.

Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba commented on the suspension of consular services for men abroad, calling it unacceptable that they "sit in restaurants" while "the guys in the trenches are very tired,"  in an interview with The Guardian, reports UNN

Details

Kuleba said that the suspension of consular services for Ukrainian men of fighting age living abroad announced on Tuesday was justice at a time when "the guys in the trenches are very tired.

"They do not understand why the government is not trying to attract more people to participate in the military operations," the minister said.

Kuleba said that it is unknown how many Ukrainian men will return, but it is unacceptable that those who are outside the country "sit in restaurants" while others are dying.

The Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security and Intelligence plans to summon representatives of the Foreign Ministry to explain the order to suspend consular services for Ukrainian men abroad

Recall

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has temporarily suspended the acceptance of new applications for consular services from Ukrainian men aged 18-60  abroad, due to the new law on military service and mobilization, which will come into force on May 18, 2024.
