Ruslan Kravchenko, the head of the Kyiv RSA, held a number of important meetings with representatives of local government in the Italian region of Tuscany - Florence Mayor Sara Funaro, representatives of the Tuscany Regional Council and the Regional Association of Municipalities, UNN reports.
"The main topic is the security situation in Ukraine. The Russian enemy kills our people every day and destroys critical infrastructure. Stopping the aggressor, achieving a just peace, security and fair punishment is what should unite the civilized world. I presented the Victory Plan to my Italian colleagues. We expect an important contribution to the fight against war criminals from the country that holds the G7 presidency," Kravchenko said.
Regions and communities in the United States, Germany, France, Italy, Britain, Poland, Lithuania and Latvia, Estonia, North Macedonia, Georgia and other countries already know about the 5 points of the Victory Plan. In total, there are more than 140 appeals to twin cities and regions from 31 countries.
The energy situation was also discussed during the meetings.
"The enemy is systematically trying to destroy the energy infrastructure. The energy sector is running on empty. Therefore, energy independence is not only a matter of comfort, but also of survival. I have invited our partners to help Kyiv region with the arrangement of cogeneration plants, solar power plants, etc.", said the head of the Kyiv RMA.
Another topic discussed during the meetings was the reconstruction of Kyiv region. Of the 30,000 facilities damaged and destroyed by the Russians, more than 20,000 have already been restored. The region needs help rebuilding its infrastructure - schools, kindergartens, and hospitals. Therefore, the head of the Kyiv region invited Italian colleagues to join the implementation of such projects.
During the meeting with representatives of the regional association of municipalities, the parties agreed to expand the network of twin communities of Tuscany and Kyiv region.
"The twinning format is not just a symbolic partnership. This cooperation allows us to attract humanitarian, financial and technical assistance for the communities of Kyiv region that need it. I am grateful to our Italian friends for understanding the complexity of the situation and their willingness to help Ukraine in this difficult time. We will definitely survive, because the world supports us," emphasized Kravchenko.
