Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi admitted that it was a surprise for him to learn about his conflict with former Minister of Defense Mykhailo Fedorov. Syrskyi wrote about this in a column for "Militarnyi", reports UNN.
"It was a surprise for me to learn that Mr. Minister and I had a conflict. I perceived our relationship as working: with complex issues, with different positions. That is how it should be between two institutions during a major war. If I offended anyone in any way: Mykhailo Albertovych, forgive me. I can be tough. But I ask both you and everyone who is now following this story with fascination: let's focus not on the personal, but on the global. On victory. Because there is an opinion more important than any names: Ukraine is bigger than Fedorov, Syrskyi, and any of us,"
He added that Ukraine will endure not because it has irreplaceable people, but because it has an army, institutions, and millions of people who do their jobs.
"Reducing this war to a confrontation between two individuals is the greatest favor we can do for the enemy. And this applies not only to Mr. Fedorov and me. I see how people divide into the 'Fedorov camp' and the 'Syrskyi camp.' As soon as an issue related to the war or the military becomes politicized, it is simplified to a slogan. And each of the issues currently being debated online — contracts, procurement, mobilization — is much more complex than any post about it. Decisions that affect people's lives are not made with slogans. And the second thought, from which everything I will say next follows: the war is won by real work, not by the public drama surrounding it. Therefore, what follows will not be about relationships, but about work,"
