Mountain rescuers, together with the border police, managed to pull out the Ukrainian and the cat as safely as possible. The rescue operation lasted more than five hours, and 15 mountain rescuers participated in it.
According to rescuers, the man was saved from frostbite by a cat that was with him in the ravine for more than a day and in the game.
As it turned out, the evader pulled out of the ravine did not act alone. Two more Ukrainians crossed the border with Romania. They were later found using a SMURD helicopter.
