Military counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) have exposed three heads of district Territorial Recruitment Centers (TRCs) in the Ternopil region for falsifying mobilization figures in the western region. This was reported by the SBU press service, according to UNN.
According to the case files, the officials entered false data into the electronic register of mobilized persons, thereby artificially inflating their numbers in reporting materials,
To achieve this, the suspects re-registered the data of previously conscripted citizens and presented them as new recruits for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As a result of such manipulations, the officials created the appearance of fulfilling mobilization plans instead of actually conscripting those liable for military service.
It has been documented that at just one stage of the crime, the perpetrators falsified data for more than 70 conscripts.
The suspects have now been notified of suspicion under Parts 1 and 3 of Art. 362 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized actions with information processed in automated systems).
The officials have been suspended from their duties. The investigation is ongoing. The perpetrators face up to 6 years in prison.
