A red and black Banderite flag and the inscription "Glory to the Ukrainian Insurgent Army" were drawn on the monument.
Law enforcement officers have already inspected the crime scene, and an investigation is underway. According to preliminary information, the monument did not suffer physical damage, but the inscriptions may be classified as public incitement to interethnic hatred.

Addition
The monument in Domostaw was erected in honor of the Polish victims of the Volyn tragedy — mass killings of civilians committed in 1943–1944 in Volyn, when the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) and the Polish underground clashed in a bloody conflict. This is a sensitive topic in Ukrainian-Polish relations and remains a source of tension in the historical dialogue between the countries.
