Japanese authorities have issued an emergency warning about an earthquake in the Tokyo area in eastern Japan, Reuters reports UNN.

According to the Japan Meteorological Institute, the epicenter of the earthquake should be located just north of Tokyo. There, the earthquake strength is estimated to be up to 5 out of 7 on the Japanese earthquake scale.
In Tokyo itself, it's strength 2 and 3. No tsunami warning has been issued.
It is noted that the earthquake covered an area of 50 square kilometers.
There are currently no reports of casualties or damage.
