IMF mission begins visit for Ukraine program review

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission today began its visit and meetings with representatives of the Ukrainian authorities as part of the preparations for the first review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program for Ukraine, the IMF Resident Representative Office in Ukraine reported on Wednesday, UNN writes.

The IMF mission, led by Gavin Gray, begins meetings today with representatives of the Ukrainian authorities and other partners in the context of the first review of the Extended Fund Facility program and the 2026 Article IV consultations. Discussions will focus on macroeconomic policy and key structural reforms,

Ukraine, within the framework of the new Extended Fund Facility (EFF) from the International Monetary Fund totaling $8.1 billion, agreed to undertake a number of obligations, including the abolition of the tax exemption on imports in low-value postal items up to 150 euros. 

The relevant bill was failed by parliament the day before, on May 26.
