The High Anti-Corruption Court found MP Anatoliy Hunko guilty of extorting and receiving an $85,000 bribe and sentenced him to 7 years in prison with confiscation of all property and deprivation of the right to hold certain positions. This was reported by the SAPO press service, writes UNN.

On March 25, 2025, the panel of judges of the HACC announced a guilty verdict against the People's Deputy of Ukraine, who was exposed for illegally receiving 85 thousand US dollars for ensuring the provision of state lands of the NAAS of Ukraine for lease to a private enterprise.
By the court's verdict, the MP was found guilty of committing crimes under Part 2 of Article 15, Part 2 of Article 28, Part 4 of Article 190 and Part 4 of Article 27, Part 2 of Article 15, Part 4 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to be elected to state authorities and local self-government bodies and appointed to civil service positions for a period of 3 years, with confiscation of all property belonging to him by right of ownership.
The verdict of the High Anti-Corruption Court enters into force thirty days from the date of its pronouncement, unless it is appealed to the Appeals Chamber of the HACC.

Within the framework of the pre-trial investigation, it was established that the deputy, who was simultaneously the Head of the Temporary Investigative Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the investigation of corruption facts at state enterprises, institutions and organizations of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, incited a representative of a private enterprise to provide an undue advantage to officials of the Academy and the head of the local state authority for ensuring the provision of land plots with a total area of 1700 hectares, which were in permanent use of the state enterprise of the Academy of Agrarian Sciences, and further non-obstruction of economic activity, with the aim of seizing such funds.
The MP asked the entrepreneur to transfer a "reward" amounting to 221 thousand US dollars - at the rate of 130 US dollars per 1 hectare of state land.
The People's Deputy and two of his accomplices were caught red-handed immediately after receiving part of the agreed funds, namely 85 thousand US dollars.
