The Ukrainian aviation company H3Operations has successfully carried out an urgent relocation of a Mi-8MTV-1 helicopter from South Sudan to Greece to extinguish forest fires and perform search and rescue operations, UNN reports.
The company stated that the decision to redeploy the aircraft was made following an emergency request from the Greek side to combat large-scale fires in the region.
"The security situation in the Middle East added particular complexity to this relocation, as a number of air routes became inaccessible or fell into high-risk zones. Our specialists had to promptly revise the flight path, coordinate new permits, and plan a route bypassing dangerous areas. Despite these challenges, the H3Operations team completed the task on time and ensured the helicopter's readiness for operation immediately upon arrival in Greece,"
The company added that the route from Juba to Greece involved passing through several jurisdictions, coordinating permit documentation, and ensuring continuous technical support for the redeployment. Therefore, such missions serve as an additional test not only for the flight crew but for the entire operations team.
"Every such deployment is a complex logistical project where there is no room for error. We must ensure not only the rapid arrival of the aircraft at the mission site but also its full readiness for operation from day one. The successful redeployment of the Mi-8 to Greece demonstrated the professionalism of our crews, engineers, and dispatch services, as well as the ability of Ukrainian airlines to perform the most complex international tasks in remote locations, under unstable routes and tight deadlines—in accordance with the highest safety standards,"
The company emphasizes that the increasing number of natural disasters and extreme weather events is driving demand for rapid aviation response. This is why the ability to promptly redeploy aviation equipment between continents and ensure its uninterrupted operation is becoming one of the key criteria for operator efficiency in the global market.
The deployment of the Mi-8 in Greece has become another confirmation that Ukrainian aviation companies remain competitive on the international stage and are capable of performing ultra-complex missions under extreme conditions.
H3Operations operates in the international market of specialized aviation services and has significant experience in implementing humanitarian, transport, and rescue missions in various regions of the world, particularly in African countries. The company's fleet consists of Mi-8/17 type helicopters used for transporting cargo and personnel, executing humanitarian programs, and disaster relief.
