Nepali authorities reported that 403 people were missing, including 341 foreign nationals. Sunil Sharma, a representative of the tourism board, said that 133 of them were from India and had been making a pilgrimage to Mount Kailash in Tibet, a sacred site for Hindus. Also missing were 47 people from the United States, 34 from Australia, 33 from the United Kingdom, and 24 from Canada, he added.
