Ukraine issued the first two licenses for the production of alcohol distillates and alcoholic beverages. They were issued to small producers from Odesa and Kyiv regions. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, UNN reports .

It is noted that small entrepreneurs received the opportunity to license production after the Government adopted a resolution that simplifies the obtainment of a production license. For example, small producers have the right to submit a declaration of compliance of the material and technical base of small distillery production with the requirements of the law, which is registered by the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection, instead of a production certificate.
The Resolution was adopted pursuant to the Law of Ukraine "On Amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine and Certain Laws of Ukraine on Simplification of Conditions for Production of Distillates by Small Businesses".
Prior to the adoption of the regulations, the craft spirits segment in Ukraine was either non-existent or operated in the shadows due to a complex regulatory framework. Now, producers have the opportunity to set up their own business and process agricultural products into value-added products that will be in demand on the domestic and foreign markets,
In addition, it provides the basis for the development of beverages with special qualities and characteristics that can be registered as geographical indications and become a business card of our country, and will stimulate the development of gastronomy in Ukraine.
