According to the publication, the explosion occurred near a tank farm by a warehouse. It is reported that the explosion was probably caused by an error while disconnecting pipelines. 

"As a result of the explosion, one person was killed. Six people were also injured," the publication notes. 

The company told Rijnmond that two of its own employees and four subcontractor workers were injured. Nothing is known about the severity of their injuries. The injured were taken to hospital.

The police confirm that one person was killed but are currently unable to provide any additional information.
