Details

On July 15, in the Kropyvnytskyi Court of Appeal, Roman Chervinskyi's lawyers appealed the decision of the Kirovohrad District Court on the preventive measure and asked not to keep their client in custody. The prosecutor's office insisted on leaving the measure of restraint unchanged. After 8.5 hours of the hearing, the court canceled the detention without bail, changing the measure of restraint to detention until August 4 with the right to post UAH 9 million 84 thousand bail.

Chervinskiy's bail was posted on July 16. In the morning of July 17, lawyers Andriy Yosypov and Konstantin Globa went to the detention center with a certificate of bail, which they tried to get in the evening.

The next hearing in Chervinsky's case in Kirovohrad District Court will be held on July 24. It will reportedly be held in a closed session.

Context

SBU detained former acting commander of one of the Special Operation Forces units Roman Chervinsky in the case of the rocket attack on Kanatove airfield.

As the SBU pointed out, according to the case file, the defendant, together with other persons, arbitrarily decided to conduct a so-called "special operation" - to take over an aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces. The Russian pilot allegedly agreed to the offer to go over to the side of Ukraine. As a result, according to the SBU, the enemy received information about the deployment of personnel of the Ukrainian Air Force and Ukrainian aircraft at the Kanatove airfield.
