Romania recorded an airspace violation during a Russian drone attack on Ukraine, and a search team will be sent to the site, the country's Ministry of National Defense announced on Friday, UNN reports.

"On the night of April 16-17, the armed forces of the Russian Federation carried out a new series of drone attacks on civilian and infrastructure facilities in Ukraine, near the border, in the northern part of the Kiliya arm," the statement said.
As noted, the population in the north of Tulcea county was alerted - a RO-ALERT message was transmitted at 00:43.
"Air defense systems tracked two aerial targets that appeared in the border area. One of the targets entered our country's airspace, radar contact with it was lost 16 km southeast of Kiliya-Veche, over an uninhabited area.
The air raid alert was canceled at 02:48.
A team from the Ministry of National Defense is ready to depart this morning on a reconnaissance mission in the relevant area.
"We strongly condemn the actions of the Russian Federation, which threaten regional security and are a serious violation of international law. The Ministry of National Defense constantly coordinates its activities with responsible allied and national structures, monitoring developments in the area of responsibility and being ready to take necessary measures to protect the territory and population of Romania," the statement said.
