North Korea launched several ballistic missiles into the waters off its eastern coast on the morning of April 19. This was reported by the military of South Korea and Japan, writes UNN.

According to the Joint Chiefs of Staff of South Korea, the launches took place around 06:10 local time from the Sinpo area. The type of missiles has not yet been specified.
Seoul stated that South Korea, together with the United States and Japan, has strengthened monitoring and is on high alert.
While strengthening surveillance and maintaining heightened readiness for further launches, South Korea, the United States, and Japan are closely exchanging information and maintaining full readiness.
Japanese Defense Minister Shinjiro Koizumi stated that the agency is analyzing the data and maintaining a high level of vigilance.
Consequences of the launch
According to preliminary estimates, the missiles fell near the eastern coast of the Korean Peninsula. There was no information about their hitting the territory or the exclusive economic zone of Japan.

The DPRK carried out its previous ballistic missile launch on April 8. The latest tests are taking place against the backdrop of growing tensions in the region and the intensification of Pyongyang's military programs.
