The son of Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle, Nick Reiner, has been charged with murder in the US in connection with the death of his parents, District Attorney Nathan Hochman announced, UNN reports.

"Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman, along with the Los Angeles Police Department, announced that 32-year-old Nick Reiner was charged today with the murder of his parents, Hollywood star Rob Reiner and photographer-producer Michelle Singer Reiner, which occurred over the weekend at the couple's home in Brentwood," the District Attorney's office said.
As stated, "Reiner has been charged with two counts of murder with special circumstances."
If Reiner is convicted of the charges, he faces the death penalty or life imprisonment in state prison without the possibility of parole.

Their son, Nick Reiner, was arrested in Los Angeles on Sunday.
