In Melitopol, the occupiers held a seminar where they taught schoolchildren to consider Ukrainian media as extremist. Under the guise of "information security," children's access to alternative sources of information is effectively being restricted.

In the temporarily occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region, the Russian administration continues to use schools as a tool for ideological influence on children. This is reported by the National Resistance Center of the SOF of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (NRC), UNN reports.

It is noted that in Melitopol, another "digital literacy seminar" was held for schoolchildren, during which they were explained how to behave "correctly" on the Internet.

Under the guise of teaching digital security, children are being instilled with distrust toward Ukrainian information sources and are being shaped to have an exclusively Russian vision of the information space. Ukrainian media, channels, and resources are labeled as "fakes," "extremism," or "dangerous content,"

How digital censorship works in the TOT:

  • under the guise of "information security," children's access to alternative sources of information is effectively restricted;
    • Ukrainian resources are presented as a threat or prohibited content;
      • trust is built only toward controlled Russian platforms and "official" sources;
        • teenagers are trained in online self-censorship and to avoid "incorrect" chats and subscriptions;
          • any information that does not correspond to Russian propaganda is automatically stigmatized.

            "A special emphasis is placed not on real cybersecurity, but on shaping behavior where a child learns from an early age to filter information according to the requirements of the occupation administration," the NRC points out.

            As a reminder

            Russians are intensifying the militarization of Ukrainian teenagers in the temporarily occupied territories. Under the guise of "vocational guidance," graduating students are being actively prepared for service in the Russian army.
