The United Arab Emirates and Kuwait, which have also faced attacks from Iran over the past two months, reported intercepting hostile drones on Sunday.
The Islamic Republic has not yet publicly signaled its readiness to accept President Donald Trump's plan, which stipulates that Iran allow passage through the strait, while Washington ends the blockade of Iranian ports within the next month. On Friday, Tehran stated that the proposal is "under consideration."
The world's largest oil company, Saudi Aramco, warned on Sunday that even if the strait were opened immediately, it would take several months for the market to return to normal.
