The Cabinet of Ministers has decided to rename the Ministry for the Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories to the Ministry of National Unity of Ukraine, which will be headed by Oleksiy Chernyshov, who was appointed to this position by the Verkhovna Rada today. The government, for its part, has decided to rename the Ministry for the Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories to the Ministry of National Unity of Ukraine
According to him, this institutional strengthening will help form a new quality of work and interaction with the multi-million Ukrainian community from all waves of migration, and the creation of the ministry will also contribute to the formation of a strategy on how to return Ukrainians to live and work in Ukraine.
"The new Deputy Prime Minister should present a clear plan for the development of the ministry, the team and the main KPIs in the near future", - Shmyhal added.

On September 6, 2024, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed Anatoliy Stelmakh as the acting Minister for the Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine after the Verkhovna Rada supported Iryna Vereshchuk's resignation from the position of Vice Prime Minister - Minister for the Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, which she had held since 2021.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, appointed Iryna Vereshchuk as the Deputy Head of the Office of the President.
