The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus stated that it had transmitted to the Polish side information about an alleged preparation of a terrorist attack on the territory of Poland. The MFA reported this on its Telegram channel, writes UNN.
Details
The ministry noted that the information was handed over to the Chargé d'Affaires of Poland in Belarus, Krzysztof Ożanna, during a meeting in Minsk. According to the Belarusian side, the data came from the country's law enforcement agencies as part of cooperation in the fight against crime.
According to the version of the Belarusian MFA, the terrorist attack is allegedly being prepared by a person convicted in Belarus under several articles of the Criminal Code, who is currently in Poland. The ministry claims that the Polish authorities recently deprived this person of additional protection and the right to residence.
What was stated in Minsk
The Belarusian MFA stated that the likely target of the attack is the minor children of a Belarusian activist living in Poland. According to Minsk, the motive is allegedly revenge due to the activist's insufficient efforts to preserve the mentioned person's protection status in Poland.
The Belarusian foreign policy department also reported that if new information becomes available, it will be transmitted to the Polish side through channels of interaction between the competent authorities of the two countries.
