Pope Leo had a brief private meeting with Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny at Madrid's Bernabeu stadium on Monday evening, while both were on tour in Spain, the Vatican announced on Tuesday, adding that it does not expect any photos of the meeting to be released, UNN reports, citing Reuters.

According to a Vatican statement, the Pope met with the reggaeton star—whose album "Debí Tirar Más Fotos" ("I Should Have Taken More Photos") won Album of the Year at this year's Grammy Awards—along with his family and others. He briefly greeted them before leaving the stadium, the statement added.
Leo, who drew the ire of U.S. President Donald Trump earlier this year after criticizing the war with Iran, is on a week-long tour of Spain, where he warned that escalating conflicts have pushed the world into a "deep crisis."
Coincidentally, the publication writes, "incurring Trump's wrath is something that unites the Pope and Bad Bunny," whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio.
The singer has been an outspoken critic of Trump's hardline anti-immigration policies and supported former Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.
Bad Bunny headlined the halftime show of the final game of the professional American football season—the Super Bowl—in February, bringing the Spanish language and reggaeton rhythms to the annual U.S. football spectacle. Trump called the show "absolutely terrible" and an "insult to America's greatness."
