Sudanese paramilitary forces attacked the town of El Fasher, killing at least 38 people, according to local activists. Meanwhile, international human rights groups accuse the militants of widespread sexual violence. Aljazeera writes about it, UNN reports.
The Local Resistance Committee, a volunteer group coordinating aid in El Fasher, said on Sunday that the paramilitary Rapid Support Force (RSF) had struck the center of the capital of North Darfur state with "four high-explosive rockets.
The attack followed a drone strike on a Saudi Arabian city hospital on Friday that killed nine people and injured 20, forcing doctors to suspend operations.
The head of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, called the attacks on health facilities across Sudan "sad" in a post on the X website on Saturday.
Addendum
Since mid-April 2023, the RSF and the Sudanese army have been engaged in a power struggle that has led to one of the worst humanitarian crises: tens of thousands of people have been killed and more than 11 million have been forced to flee their homes.
Almost all of Darfur is now under the control of the RSF, which has also seized parts of South Kordofan and central Sudan, while the army holds the north and east.
