A tourist from the United States died as a result of a shark attack while paddleboarding in the Bahamas. This was reported by Reuters, according to UNN.

A 40-year-old woman from Boston, Massachusetts, was paddleboarding near a resort in western New Providence with a relative on Monday morning when she was attacked by a shark. Emergency personnel on the shore performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation, but were unable to save her.
The victim received cardiopulmonary resuscitation. However, she sustained serious injuries to the right side of her body, including her right thigh and upper right limb,
The woman died on the spot.

Although fatal shark attacks are not common in the Bahamas, at least two cases have been reported recently.
According to police, on November 21, a 47-year-old German woman went missing while on a diving excursion in the waters of West End, Grand Bahama.
In September 2022, a 58-year-old American woman died as a result of a shark attack while scuba diving with her family in the waters of New Providence.
