A sharp dispute broke out in the UN Security Council following statements by Russia's Permanent Representative Vasily Nebenzya regarding Ukraine's alleged preparation of strikes against the Russian Federation from the territory of the Baltic states. This was reported by UNN.

During the UN Security Council meeting, Nebenzya claimed that Ukraine allegedly plans to launch drones at Russia from Latvia and other Baltic states, and also asserted that Kyiv has already sent "drone forces" there. Furthermore, the Russian diplomat threatened the Baltic countries, stating that NATO membership "will not protect them from retaliatory measures."
Latvia's Ambassador to the UN, Sanita Pavļuta-Deslandes, rejected these accusations, calling them a fabrication. U.S. Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Tammy Bruce, emphasized that the Security Council is not a place for threatening other states and reaffirmed Washington's commitment to its NATO allies.
Ukraine warned allies in advance about Russian propaganda
Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi previously stated that Russia is spreading false claims about the alleged permission from the Baltic countries and Finland to use their airspace for attacks against the Russian Federation.
"Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, or Finland have never given permission to use their airspace for strikes against Russia. Ukraine has never even requested such permission,"
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry also stated that Russia deliberately uses electronic warfare tools to redirect drones toward the Baltic countries, subsequently using this for information campaigns and accusations against Ukraine's allies.
