In the Sumy region, a mother and her 9-year-old son were killed in a double Russian strike, while four other people were injured, Sumy Regional Military Administration Head Oleh Hryhorov said on social media Friday, UNN reports.

Early in the morning, according to him, the Russians struck a private residential house in the Buryn community with two attack UAVs.
"There was extensive destruction and a fire. Unfortunately, a 29-year-old woman and her 9-year-old son were killed at the scene. Four other people were injured. Two of them—the boy's father and grandmother—are in hospital with severe burns," the regional administration head said.

According to the Sumy regional police, over the past day, one person was killed and five others were injured in the region as a result of enemy attacks. During the past day, Russian forces carried out 39 attacks on 28 settlements in the Sumy region; the enemy used KAB guided aerial bombs, attack UAVs, FPV drones, artillery, mortars, and multiple-launch rocket systems:
- in the Seredyna-Buda community, a 63-year-old woman was killed in an enemy attack, while five other people were injured—three women aged 41, 46, and 40, and two men aged 24 and 62. Private and apartment buildings were damaged;
- in the Sumy community, an apartment building, electrical switchboards, and the infrastructure of a filling station were damaged in the attacks;
- in the Mykolaiv community, a residential building, a warehouse, vehicles, trailers, a ground robotic system, and a power transmission line were damaged;
- in the Trostianets community, railway equipment and warehouse premises were damaged;
- in the Znob-Novhorod, Yampil, and Khutir-Mykhailivka communities, a residential building and civilian infrastructure were damaged.
