President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the Honorary Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the U.S. House of Representatives, Michael McCaul. The parties discussed the situation on the battlefield, Russian attacks on Ukraine, as well as Ukraine's long-range responses. This is reported on the Official Internet Representation of the President of Ukraine, according to UNN

In Kyiv, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the Honorary Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the U.S. House of Representatives, Michael McCaul. The head of state thanked for the bipartisan support and attention to Ukraine

- the statement reads.

McCaul congratulated Ukraine on its successful NATO summit in Ankara, particularly on the important decisions to protect Ukrainian skies. The congressman emphasized that ballistic missiles are one of the greatest threats coming from russia. The President informed about the results of the meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump in Ankara.

Indeed, the summit was a success for us. I hope this will continue. And licenses for future Patriot systems in Ukraine – this is very important for us. Of course, it sends a signal first of all to our people that we can be safe. But we understand that this is not a very short path. We have about 500 technology companies in Ukraine, and dozens of them are very strong. I hope they can do this as quickly as possible. If we get these licenses as soon as possible

- Zelenskyy said.

During the meeting, they discussed the situation on the battlefield, Russian attacks on Ukraine's civilian infrastructure and our people, as well as Ukraine's long-range responses, the consequences of which are tangible for the aggressor. Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine is imposing long-range sanctions at a distance of over 2500 km from its border. According to him, there is now a fuel shortage across russia, their economy is suffering great losses, and more and more russians are dissatisfied with this.

We are very impressed by your people. What you have done with drone technology is very impressive

– noted Michael McCaul.

The President spoke about the work on a future agreement in the Drone Deal format between Ukraine and the USA, which will be a significant contribution to strengthening defense cooperation between the countries. Importantly, the American side is already testing certain Ukrainian drones and there is positive feedback.

Attention was also paid to strengthening sanctions pressure on the russian federation. Michael McCaul told the President about a meeting with Ukrainian experts on sanctions that his delegation held during the visit. He and his team will work on the relevant developments in Washington.

In addition, the President awarded Michael McCaul the Order of Merit, II degree, and the Order of Merit, III degree – to the founder and chairman of the board of directors of the investment company Magellan Investment Holdings, Ron Wahid, who was also present during the meeting.

During the meeting, U.S. President Donald Trump called Ukrainian strikes on targets on russian territory an escalation that could help bring the war closer to an end.

"We hope this will create space for negotiations to end this war. Yes, it is an escalation, but at the same time, it is precisely this kind of escalation that can help bring it to an end," Trump said.

The day before the meeting, as UNN reported, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, speaking at the NATO Defense Industry Forum, emphasized that russia had lost its territorial advantage - its deep rear. The head of state made this statement after Ukrainian drones struck an oil refinery in Siberia. This refers to the Omsk Oil Refinery, located at a distance of over 2500 km in a straight line from the Ukrainian border.

Chief designer of Fire Point company Denys Shtilerman said that during the attack on the Omsk Refinery, a new modification of the Ukrainian long-range drone FP-1 was used. This refinery became the farthest target deep inside Russia that was hit by drones launched from Ukraine.

Currently, there is not a single large refinery left on the territory of Russia that has not been hit by Ukrainian strike UAVs. And Ukrainian strikes continue.
