- Don't be afraid to make mistakes. Learn risk management and how to build effective processes.
- Help specialists grow within the company. Give each of them their own area of responsibility, where they will receive expertise. Give them the opportunity to consult other specialists and access analytical publications.
- Everything that is written must be implemented.
- Think big and long-term. During one of the iterations of changes, we moved from category management to category strategies. The planning horizon is at least 3 years.
- But not every product category needs a strategy. For example, in transactional procurement, such as stationery, building a strategy will not be effective or add value. The same applies to non-systemic procurement, as it needs to be flexible.
