Starting January 1, 2025, residents of the occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia region without russian passports will be treated as foreigners. They face forced eviction due to the 90-day visa-free stay limit.
Residents of the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia region who do not obtain a Russian passport are to be deported as foreigners. This is reported by the Berdiansk City Military Administration (BMVA) in its Telegram channel, UNN reports .

It is noted that from January 1, 2025, foreigners can stay in Russia without a visa for no more than 90 days. In this regard, residents of the TOT of Zaporizhzhia region who do not have Russian passports may be equated with foreign residents.
For residents of Berdiansk who do not have Russian passports and visas, this creates a real threat of forced eviction from their homes in the spring
The BIA added that in practice, this means that the occupiers use the new rules of stay as a tool of pressure to obtain Russian documents from the local population.
