Due to a deficit of precipitation and low air humidity, there is a risk of drought in Ukraine. March 2026 became the driest month since 1991.

March 2026 turned out to be the driest in the last 35 years. As reported by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, due to a deficit of precipitation in the near future, conditions for the development of drought phenomena may arise in many territories, UNN reports.
March turned out to be the driest since 1991. There was a very rapid loss of moisture. An unfavorable factor was the low relative humidity for the early spring period. During the month, from 1 to 10, in Transcarpathia - 18 days throughout the territory, its decrease to 30% and below was observed.
As noted by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, in combination with moderate winds, dry winds could occur.
Due to a deficit of precipitation in the near future, conditions for the development of drought phenomena may arise in many territories.
