A 31-year-old driver from Zhmerynka district is suspected of premeditated murder for profit after hitting a freight forwarder with a hammer to steal 260,000 UAH.

In Vinnytsia region, a man was served a notice of suspicion over the murder of a freight forwarder.
The investigation established that the driver of a limited liability company decided to take possession of a large sum of money that his colleague, who was delivering goods to customers, had been carrying.
The man called his colleague, learned his route, and drove to meet him. Upon meeting him, the attacker struck him several times in the head with a hammer. The victim died at the scene from his injuries.
Investigators say the offender took almost UAH 260 thousand from the carrier's vehicle and fled the scene.
Currently, the man was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine.
The prosecutor is preparing a motion to the court to impose a preventive measure in the form of detention on the suspect.
If proven guilty in court, the suspect faces a sentence of imprisonment for a term of ten to fifteen years or life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
