In total, more than 50 international events were organized in Odesa region between June and December 2023.

In 2023, the Odesa ODA continued to build strong international relations, cooperating with partners and promoting diplomatic solutions to global issues. The region actively participated in international forums, exchanging experience and implementing effective strategies to address common challenges, UNN reports with reference to the ODA press service.

The military administration noted that thanks to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, this year compatriots are celebrating a historic event - the start of negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU.

"In total, during June-December 2023, more than 50 international events were organized in Odesa region, including meetings with representatives of such countries as Belgium, China, Sweden, France, Pakistan, Italy, Germany, Greece, Italy, Spain, Estonia, Sweden, France, Romania, Lithuania, Latvia, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Moldova, the United States, and the Netherlands," the statement said.

The Odesa Regional Military Administration, continuing previous work with partners in the context of restoring and supporting the region, has achieved tangible results.

Thus, on June 12, 2023, an interregional agreement was signed with the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen (Germany). As part of the cooperation, Bremen will allocate UAH 2.5 million to restore damaged educational institutions in the region, in particular in Odesa, UAH 1.1 million for a lung ventilator for the regional children's clinical hospital, UAH 1 million to strengthen emergency response capabilities (floodlights), and UAH 05 million to equip emergency medical transport (tires for cars).

In addition, it is planned to allocate funds to install an elevator for children and people with disabilities in the Odesa Regional Puppet Theater.

"In August, Bremen purchased and delivered two buses to Odesa to evacuate combat medics and the injured. Equipment is being purchased for social infrastructure institutions (neuropsychiatric boarding schools and geriatric homes). Odesa schoolchildren from the 90th lyceum visited Bremen," the statement said.

In addition, 2 sets of defibrillators were received from the Podkarpackie Voivodeship (Poland) for the Ukrainian Medical Center for Rehabilitation of Mother and Child (Odesa).

"The Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region (France) has decided to transfer three intensive care beds to the regional children's clinical hospital.

The province of Jiangxi (China) purchased rehabilitation equipment for the Multidisciplinary Hospital for Veterans worth UAH 1.5 million.

Together with the Polish voivodeships, we conducted training for communities and the staff of the Port Authority on European integration processes, attracting external financing, port infrastructure management, etc.

Five ambulances were delivered from Vienna (Austria).

Italy will play an important role in the reconstruction. Italian specialists and companies are already involved in the reconstruction work, and the damage to the Transfiguration Cathedral is being assessed.

On October 31, 2023, the Laboratory for the Restoration of Ukraine was opened in Milan," the OVA informs.

The military administration also said that in cooperation with the Global Empowerment Mission and the Howard Buffett Foundation, it was agreed to install about 3,000 windows for the affected buildings of residents of the city and region. The installation began in early August and is ongoing.

In July, the Lower Danube Cross-Border Cooperation Association resumed its work. As part of the work with the Association, 17 community projects (education and healthcare) have already been prepared for further submission to the EU-funded Interreg NEXT Romania-Ukraine competition. In addition, as part of cooperation with Romanian partners, two groups of children attended educational camps in Romania.


"We continue to actively cooperate with representatives of international and non-governmental organizations, as well as with partner regions to ensure and support the region's vital activity, maintain decent conditions for residents of Odesa region and IDPs," the regional administration said, expressing gratitude to everyone who supports Ukraine and Odesa region.
