Zelenskyy is expected to join the heads of state and government of France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States at the G7 summit in Évian-les-Bains, according to officials who were granted anonymity to speak freely about the preparations for the meeting.
One official said the Ukrainian leader plans to discuss military diplomacy and air defense to counter Russian missile strikes.
In March, an advisor to the French president stated that Zelenskyy had not been invited to the June 15-17 summit.
A representative of the Elysée Palace in France, which is organizing the G7 summit, did not respond to a request for comment on Tuesday.
