Ukraine would agree to negotiate not with the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, but with someone else who would represent Russia. At the same time, there is no entourage, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a briefing, UNN writes.
I think that in principle we would agree to talk not to him, but to someone who would represent Russia
Zelenskyy reminded that there are businesses in Russia and Ukraine is ready to talk to them if they are interested in ending the war.
"Russia has businesses, it has many regions, including separate serious areas of business. I think we would communicate with them if they have a vision to end the war, if they are ready to go against the fact that Putin does not want to end the war," the head of state added.
The head of state also reminded that Russia probably has certain opposition forces "who are afraid of Putin". He expressed the opinion that representatives of such an opposition would agree to negotiate if supported by Europe, the United States and Ukraine.
Addition
UN Secretary-General António Guterres rejected the call of the Russian dictator to establish a "temporary administration" in Ukraine. He stressed that Kyiv has a legitimate government.
"There is a legitimate government in Ukraine, and, obviously, it must be respected," the UN Secretary-General said at a briefing in response to a question about Putin's call for a possible "temporary administration under the auspices of the UN" in Ukraine.
