The future US special envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg believes that US President-elect Donald Trump could do something like inviting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to Washington for talks after his inauguration, and is convinced that a solution to the Ukraine-Russia issue is possible "within the next few months." He said this in an interview with Fox News on December 13, UNN reports.

During a discussion of inviting world leaders to Trump's inauguration, the host asked whether Keith Kellogg would recommend "inviting Putin and Zelenskiy and after the inauguration sitting down with them and talking for the next few days" in Washington, rather than somewhere in Europe and "trying to make a deal.
"President Trump plays on three levels and it would not surprise me if he did something like this. Could he do it? Of course he could do it. He would make such a bold move. And when it comes to Ukraine and Russia, I believe it will be resolved within the next few months, and the only person who can do that is President Donald Trump, and he will do it," Kellogg said.
When asked if he plans to travel to Europe, to Russia or Ukraine, Kellogg said that "we are making plans to actually go out and just listen.
"It doesn't hurt to listen to people, not to negotiate, because we're not part of the government, but to listen to people. We're aggressively looking at the calendar, and to get this done soon, and to make sure we have the right elements to present to President Trump for President Trump to make a decision on what he wants to do," Kellogg said.
