On the eve of the start of the Summer Olympics in Paris, Brovary Mayor Ihor Sapozhko spoke via video with the athletes who will represent the city and Ukraine at these most prestigious sports competitions on the planet. Sapozhko reported the details of the friendly conversation on his Telegram channel, UNN reports.

The mayor clarified that four athletes are currently finalizing their preparations for the Games. In particular, wrestler Alina Grushyna-Akobiya is training in Ukraine, javelin thrower Artur Felfner is training in Estonia, boxer Dmytro Lovchynskyi has already left Poland for France, and track and field athlete Liudmyla Olyanovska is at a training camp in the French Alps. Due to problems with communication in the mountains, Lyudmyla was unable to join the conversation, but I spoke with her later.
Sapozhko noted that he wished the girls and boys good luck and inspiration in sports and to return home with Olympic awards.
"On the eve of the biggest sporting event of the year, I talked to Brovary athletes who will represent the honor of our community and the whole country at the Olympic Games in Paris. I was sincerely glad to see and hear all four representatives of the Brovary sports community. I wished our boys and girls to represent Ukraine with dignity in their sports, high results, sportsmanship and inspiration, and, of course, to return home with Olympic medals," wrote Ihor Sapozhko.
The mayor added that the performances of Brovary athletes will be additionally announced so that the community residents do not miss the broadcasts from France and support their representatives at the Olympics.
