According to Pakistani sources, the US delegation was represented by Vice President J.D. Vance, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner, who met with Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. The Iranian delegation arrived in black as a sign of mourning for the dead, including children, who, according to Tehran, died as a result of an American strike near a school.
Iran stated that the talks would continue despite disagreements, but the timing of the new round was not specified. Pakistan, which provided security for the talks in the capital, called the mission an important step in its role as an international mediator.
