Ukraine and Moldova discussed European integration, cooperation and support for Ukraine

The First Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine met with the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova to discuss European integration, bilateral relations, and Ukraine's expectations regarding the participation of the President of Moldova in the Global Peace Summit.

In the framework of the working meeting, First Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Kornienko met with Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova Mihai Popschi. This was reported by the Press Service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, UNN reports.

First of all, Oleksandr Kornienko noted that the Ukrainian Parliament is interested in further development of interparliamentary cooperation. He noted that such meetings would create an opportunity to exchange experience and coordinate positions in this aspect of legislative activity.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the European integration process.

The foreign policy priorities of Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova regarding the European Union coincide, which is a solid basis for further development of bilateral relations and cooperation in the international arena

The First Vice-Speaker also emphasized Ukraine's expectations for the personal participation of President Maia Sandu in the Global Peace Summit.

In addition, Oleksandr Kornienko expressed his gratitude for the fact that more than 100,000 Ukrainian citizens have found temporary refuge in Moldova. He particularly noted that Moldova has provided Ukraine with eight tranches of humanitarian aid worth approximately seven million US dollars.

In conclusion, the First Vice Speaker informed that Ukraine steadfastly supports the territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova within its internationally recognized borders. He also noted that Ukraine highly appreciates Moldova's solidarity with the Ukrainian people and is sincerely grateful for the support and assistance in these difficult times.
