Ukraine and Indonesia hold political consultations at the level of deputy foreign ministers: second Peace Summit on the agenda

Political consultations between Ukraine and Indonesia took place in Kyiv. The parties discussed bilateral cooperation, the situation in Ukraine, the second in Ukraine, the second Peace Summit, the global agenda and prospects for Ukraine's cooperation with ASEAN were discussed.

First Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Andriy Sybiga and Indonesian Deputy Foreign Minister Umar Hadi held political consultations today, August 15. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, UNN writes.

"On August 15, political consultations between Ukraine and Indonesia were held in Kyiv at the level of deputy foreign ministers of the two countries," the statement reads.

Sibiga, as indicated, expressed his gratitude to the Indonesian government for supporting Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, in particular during the voting for the relevant UN General Assembly resolutions.

During the meeting, the parties reportedly discussed a wide range of issues related to Ukrainian-Indonesian cooperation and the global agenda. According to the MFA, they also identified joint steps to enhance the dynamics of trade and economic cooperation and further interaction within international organizations.

"The Indonesian side was informed in detail about the situation in Ukraine, as well as preparations for the second Global Peace Summit. It was emphasized that the only basis for a just peace is President Zelenskyy's Peace Formula," the Foreign Ministry said.

The parties also exchanged views on the prospects for Ukraine's cooperation with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), in particular in the context of Ukraine's aspiration to become a Sectoral Dialogue Partner of the Association.

During a trip to Indonesia, Li Hui, the Chinese government's special representative for Eurasian affairs, suggested that the two countries should jointly create conditions for the resumption of direct dialogue and negotiations to resolve the "Ukrainian crisis.
