Law enforcement officers in Odesa region have served suspicion notices to two foreigners who were illegally transporting 16 men liable for military service abroad in a refrigerated meat truck. This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine, according to UNN.
Two 39-year-old foreigners who were engaged in the transportation of meat products from Ukraine organized the smuggling of men of military age across the border. Under the guise of their business activities, they hid 16 men liable for military service in a refrigerator with cattle meat and tried to smuggle them through one of the checkpoints to the Republic of Moldova,

It is noted that for their services, each "client" had to pay the entrepreneurs from $6000 to $8000. In addition, the offenders planned to receive another 2000 euros from those wishing to put a stamp in their passports on legal entry into the territory of a neighboring country. This deal was to be organized abroad.
The police seized the truck, shipping documents, phones used by the men to arrange the border crossing, as well as other material evidence of criminal activity.
Law enforcement officers detained the foreigners in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Investigators have now served them a notice of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - organization of illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine, management of such actions, as well as facilitating their commission by advice, instructions, committed against several persons, for mercenary motives, by prior conspiracy by a group of persons. The sanction of the article provides for up to nine years in prison with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years, with confiscation of property.
The court imposed on the suspects custody as a measure of restraint with the right to be released on bail in the amount of UAH 10 million. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
