"A TT pistol with 8 rounds of ammunition was found at the Orlivka checkpoint during a customs inspection of a vehicle driven by a Ukrainian citizen heading to Turkey. He hid the weapon inside the car's repair and maintenance manual in a cut-out cavity in its pages in a shape similar to the outline of this gun," customs officials said.
The book, with a specially equipped hiding place, was reportedly in a box of car tools among bags of personal belongings.
The attempt to export the pistol without the appropriate permit and declaration resulted in its temporary seizure under the protocol on violation of customs regulations on the grounds of Part 1 of Art. 483 of the CCU.
