The Ukrainian tennis player extended her winning streak on clay to eight matches following her title at the WTA 1000 tournament in Rome. She also won her ninth consecutive match against an opponent outside the top 100, including her sixth this season. Svitolina secured her tenth victory in 12 matches at the second-round stage of Roland Garros and will play in the third round of this tournament for the 11th consecutive time (in 2019, she advanced further following the withdrawal of fellow Ukrainian Kateryna Baindl).
Elina will compete for a spot in the round of 16 against Germany's Tamara Korpatsch (WTA No. 95). This match will take place on Friday.
