Ukraine can count on the support of the European Union in times of war and peace. This was stated by the President of the European Council Antonio Costa before the European Council meeting on Thursday, UNN reports.

Mr. Costa said that he was honored to be with President Zelenskyy as he chaired the European Council for the first time in his new position.
"At this meeting, we will discuss two main points. First of all, Ukraine, and then Europe in the world. On Ukraine, we must be very clear. You can count on our full and unwavering support for as long as it takes. Now, during the war, and in the future, in peace. And we want to welcome you here someday as a member of the European Union. And we will work with you to get a comprehensive, just and lasting peace," Costa said.
