Russian gas producer Gazprom said it will send 42.4 million cubic meters of gas to Europe via Ukraine on Tuesday, the same volume as on Monday, while applications for natural gas supplies to Austria from Slovakia have increased. Reuters reports UNN.

European energy markets are in tension due to contractual disagreements between Gazprom and Austrian OMV, which led the Kremlin-controlled company to cut off supplies to the Vienna-based company on Saturday.
OMV's supplies were cut off after the company threatened to confiscate some of Gazprom's gas as compensation for the arbitration it won in a contract dispute.
However, daily flows to Europe through Ukraine remain at normal levels, and gas continues to flow to Austria.
The number of applications, or requests from customers, for gas supplies to Austria from Slovakia on Tuesday increased by 6% compared to Monday, but remained about 12% below the level observed before Gazprom cut off supplies to OMV.
It is unclear who is buying the gas that was previously destined for OMV, Reuters notes.
It is noted that the volume of deliveries to the Czech Republic from Slovakia roughly corresponded to the levels observed in the previous days of this month.
