Kyiv has not yet heard any concrete details about Ukraine's European integration from Poland, which will be chairing the EU Council from January. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration - Minister of Justice Olha Stefanishyna to journalists in Brussels, reports UNN.
Stefanyshyna was asked to comment on expectations regarding Ukraine's European integration, in the context of Poland's presidency of the Council of the EU from January 2025. In particular, this concerns the future opening of negotiation clusters in the next six months of Poland's presidency.
"On the way to Brussels, I had a meeting with the Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs (Poland Radosław Sikorski - ed.), the Minister of European Affairs (Poland Adam Szlapka - ed.). The Polish presidency mainly relies on the work of the European Commission, so I have at least six different meetings in the European Commission with people who are one way or another responsible for opening negotiation clusters," Stefanyshyna said.
Therefore, she noted that Ukraine will focus on the European Commission.
"So far, I have only heard that the Polish presidency will focus on security issues, I do not have any specifics as a result of this conversation," Stefanishyna said.
