Dmytro Pakholchenko, Director of the Cybersecurity Department of the State Special Communications Service Administration, warned about the increase in cyberattacks on businesses through supply chains. Pakholchenko also drew attention to the change in tactics of hostile hacker groups.
Many cases we are currently working on begin with the compromise of contractors or partners. This becomes the entry point through which the attack further develops on government agencies or critical infrastructure.
To prevent such attacks, the state imposes clear requirements on suppliers of goods, works, and services for government agencies and critical information infrastructure facilities.
In addition, Pakholchenko emphasized the need for companies to adhere to basic rules of cyber hygiene, conduct regular training and briefings for personnel. According to him, only the use of two-factor authentication provides half of successful protection, and he urged to set it up everywhere possible.
